Fishing Local

Lakes are full and fish are biting.

Lake Fairfield and Richland Chambers Resevoir have filled to their capacity due to heavy rains this spring. The fresh rain water kept fish in the deep area temporarily. They have returned to the inlets and shallows and are biting lures and live bait.

Catfish are beeing caught on jug and trot lines and they have been caught using stink bait and bottom lures. Crappie, white perch, and bass have been plentiful. Last weekend there was a white perch caught in Richland Chambers that was over 45 lbs. It was a new lake record! If you want more information, then go by or call the Oak Grove marina on highway 287. They can give you all the details.

So, pick up your tackle, hook up the boat, and head out for some great excitment this weekend!
